THE BIRTH OF PRIMA
The word otium itself contains its own history and philosophy
The choice of the name was not easy: it took us more than a year to find the perfect fit. We stared with rollex, which reflected the extreme precision of the craftsmanship, then we passed on to “Mario box”, which sound like a board game.
The name “Otium” and its philosophy were born thanks to some friulan friends, who hit the mark by adding to the logo also a philosophical symbol (the owl) and the payoff “C’è il destino, c’è il caso, quindi noi filosofeggiamo”, that is also part of the logo
fABIO francini
The memory of the classics studied as a young boy, that beautiful exhortation of ancient philosophers, the human thought free from sin. These elements became strongly imprinted in my mind, first in my youth and then in my life as an adult.
Truly lazing, lazing like Orazio, Ovidio and Seneca did, to make it clearer.
Lazing in a way that allows us to slow down, that frees us from the obligation of always having to do something… and that often allows us to find ourselves

Otium contains the essence and the thought that we wanted to give to an artisanal object which hides a unique moment of introspection behind its use.
The name truly represents our beliefs (break, private moment, sharing) together with the manual skills that the box requires and the beauty that we find in the carefully studied details.
This is how we were able to give a soul to our precious box.
